Let’s review the vocabulary from Unit A -L6 and A – L8
Read the text and answer the questions

Let’s have a look at a really special town in the world. It is in the country of Egypt and its name is Giza. It is famous for the Great Pyramids. These constructions are some of the most famous buildings in the world.

The Great Pyramids in Giza are very old and big. Egyptians built The Great Pyramids a very long time ago, over 4,500 years ago! Back then, people could construct these pyramids. They were professional workers who could move large stones and create these structures without the technologies that we have today. They could do things that we can’t do easily now.

Today, people from all over the world come to this town to visit the pyramids, take photos, and look at these strange things. They are shocked by the great size and the history of these monuments. Tourists can walk inside the pyramids, enjoy the stories, and learn about old times. Also, there are many light and sound shows in the evenings.

We can visit these places but we can’t copy the mechanics of those old Egyptian builders. They had knowledge that people lost over time. The pyramids show how clever people were in the old days. The Great Pyramids of Giza present the unusual power of people in the past and continue to be a puzzle for people today.

1. Why are the pyramids special?

2. What can people do there?

William: Well, that was harder than I thought. Firstly, the trip started later because the train was late. Then, there were long stops on the way. The train stopped for an hour in Los Angeles so I could walk around. Also, some people on the train were not really friendly. But the ocean was great. So, I can repeat the trip one day.

Emma: Alright. That was nice but challenging. The weather wasn’t good all the time. It rained, and the boat moved a lot. So, I didn’t feel well. When we had a stop in one of the towns, I went to the hospital. Anyway, I enjoyed the beautiful view of the ocean and the people. I’d like another trip like that with my new friends.

Jackson: OK, here we go. My trip was cool but hard. My scooter broke in the middle of the road. And that was night. I needed to stop. I found a cheap motel next to the police station. So, my trip was slower and more expensive than I wanted. I don’t want to travel by scooter again.
